Ink Review #254: Monteverde ITF Mercury Noir

Today we’ll be reviewing Monteverde Mercury Noir. This is a rusty red that, along with the rest of the Monteverde inks, is lubricated to help prevent the ink from drying out in your pen.

Swabs:

This ink had little shading and no sheen. My swatch leaned purple-red but is a light brick red in my writing sample. The color is a shade lighter than Sailor 930.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

Limonaired Ink Test Card

This ink had a quick dry time of 15 seconds and no water resistance.

Writing Sample:

This ink had a slightly dry flow, which deterred me from liking the sample as I prefer smooth, wetter inks.

Overall: Mercury Noir is a rusty red with a dry flow.
