Ink Review #865: Cross Red

Today we will be reviewing Cross Red. This company was founded in Providence, Rhode Island in 1846.

Swabs:


Cross Red is a red ink with orange shading, no shading or sheen.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had an average dry time of 20 seconds and low water resistance.

This ink had an average saturation and flow.

Overall: Cross Red is a bright orange-red with a smooth flow.

  1. Cross inks used to be relabelled Pelikan 4001 inks, but I believe that's no longer the case. In the ink swatches Cross red looks a bit more saturated and less orange than the Pelikan 4001 red on my monitor, but all these bright orange-reds seem fairly similar to me.
